It is a monel (nickel-copper) core electrode for cold and semi-hot (300°C) welding of grey cast iron, temper cast iron or spheroidal cast iron, and for welding grey cast iron with steel.

It is used for joining or fillet welding of broken or corroded cast iron parts, as well as for welding out casting or machining defects. The weld metal is color-matched to the base metal and can be processed by filing or stock removal.

The arc is very easy to start and re-ignite, has a stable arc and uniform weld seam.

Short weld seams of about 30 to 50 mm in length should be made to reduce welding stresses, and the weld seam should be hammered before it cools.
